Famous baseball pro pitcher Bobby Jenks obviously had a little too much
fun on this past Thursday evening, March 24, 2012, as indicated by his
arrest for DUI. He has apologized for breaking the law, and admits that
he is 'embarrassed by the situation and apologizes to his teammates
and to the Red Sox organizations for any distraction that the arrest has
made." He admits that he is going to keep his spirits up and let
the legal process run its course.
He is definitely in some trouble as anyone would be even if they weren't
a professional ball player. The arrest took place on early Friday morning,
March 25th. Jenks was arrested and charged with 5 misdemeanors, including
leaving the scene of a crash and driving under the influence, i.e.
DUI/DWI. All of this took place in Lee County, Florida.
Jenks was arrested after leaving a strip club called "Babes."
A bouncer at strip club told the police that there was a White Mercedes
SUV with a driver that fit Jenks' description, and that SUV had pulled
into the club's parking lot which proceeded to hit a parked truck.
Upon his arrest, the pro baseball player was completely honest with the
Sheriff's Department, admitting that after he exited the strip club,
he had hit a car and had to escape the situation.
After Jenks' was arrested, he was released on $4,250 bail, and his
court appearance is scheduled to tentatively take place on April 9, 2012.
